David Portman

Proprietor

David Portman, President and co-owner of Action Ambulance Service. David founded Action Ambulance Service in 1977 with his brother Stanley. David has worked for 30+ years growing his organization into a leading provider of EMS in the Boston area.

Bob Scarpa

Executive Vice President for Business Development

Bob Scarpa, EMT-P is the Executive Vice President for Business Development. Bob began his career in Emergency Medical Services in 1975 and has had the opportunity to work in the North Suburbs of Boston throughout his career. Bob has many years of experience and knowledge in EMS and strives to continue providing our customers with premier medical treatment and transportation focusing on customer service excellence.

Derick Aumann

EMT-P, Vice President for Workforce Development

Derick Aumann, EMT-P is the Vice President for Workforce Development. Derick has been with Action Ambulance Service for nine years and began his career in EMS in 1988. Derick has worked as an EMT, Paramedic, Field Supervisor, Field Training Officer and Safety Officer. Derick is currently working on his PHR Certification through the Society of Human Resources Management.

Michael Woronka

Michael Woronka, EMT-P, MBA is the CEO and co-owner of Action Ambulance Service. He has been able to effectively utilize his 20 plus years as a practicing field paramedic and his advanced educational accomplishments to create a thriving and successful organization, which continues to evolve into a business powerhouse.

Joe Simone

EMT-P Vice President of Operations

Joe Simone, EMT-P is the Vice President of Operations and has over 20 years of experience in EMS. Joe started with Action Ambulance Service as a Field Paramedic in 1996. He has served as the Director of Information Technology at Action and continues to lead that department also.

James Scolforo

Vice President of Operations for MA EMS Region I

James Scolforo, EMT-P is our Vice President of Operations for the City of Pittsfield & Massachusetts EMS Region I. James has been in the Emergency Medical Services industry for over 20 years and has been a long time resident of the Pittsfield area.
